Diet:
Savory cakes are generally appreciated by all at aperitif or meal time! This simple recipe can be adapted according to your desires and the seasons. For example, the ham can be replaced by tuna and it is possible to add the cheese of your choice to give even more flavor to this cake and increase its protein and calcium content. As for the dough, do not hesitate to use semi-wholemeal flour which will be much richer in fiber and to replace all or part of the butter with olive oil, a source of unsaturated fatty acids which are excellent for the cardiovascular health.
Tips
To bring back all the flavors of the South in this savory cake, season your mixture with 2 tbsp. coffee shaved with Provencal herbs. You can also invite tricolor peppers cut into strips and browned in olive oil, as well as a few pinches of sweet paprika or Espelette pepper. As for the white ham, choose it in the smoked version to find a little air of bacon… with much less fat!
