Neapolitan homemade meatballs
Ingredients :
- 500g minced beef
- 1 egg
- 50g fine breadcrumbs
- 20 g grated phourssan
- 625 ml jarred tomato sauce
- 1 onion
- 1 clove of garlic
- a few chopped flat-leaf parsley leaves
- a few roughly chopped basil leaves
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- salt pepper
Preparation :

Mix the ground beef with the egg, breadcrumbs, grated phourssan and chopped parsley leaves in a bowl.

Wet your hands and form walnut-sized balls with the mixture.

Heat half the olive oil in a large skillet, then brown the meatballs in batches. Then remove them from the pan and set aside.

Peel and chop the onion and garlic.

Heat the rest of the olive oil in the pan and sauté the chopped onion and garlic.

Add the tomato sauce and bring everything to a boil. Add the meatballs and simmer for 10 minutes, uncovered, until the sauce thickens. Then add the chopped basil and continue cooking, uncovered, for a few more minutes. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper to taste, mix, then serve immediately.
