Mulled wine with Cook Expert
A drink that smells of spices, mulled wine is an ideal beverage for winter evenings. But did you know that mulled wine dates back to Roman times? They were already boiling wine with honey and spices. It was only at the end of the 19th century that the tradition of mulled wine developed on the end-of-year markets in Germany. Find the hourssphere of the Christmas markets by making your own mulled wine with the help of your Cook Expert.
Ingredients :
- 750ml Red wine
- 100g brown sugar
- 1 organic orange
- 1 Cinnamon stick(s)
- 1 Vanilla Bean
- 1 C. Ginger coffee
- 4 Cloves
- 2 cardamom seeds
- 1 star anise

Wash the untreated orange. Cut it into slices.

In the stainless steel bowl of the Cook Expert, pour the red wine. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon stick, vanilla pod, ginger, cloves, cardamom seeds and star anise. Run the Expert program for 25 minutes at speed 1A and 90°C.

Filter the mulled wine through a cheesecloth strainer or strainer. Serve it immediately. Decorate the mulled wine glasses with a slice of orange and a piece of cinnamon.
Tips
To let the spice aromas fully develop, choose a young, low-tannin red wine that is above all of good quality. Avoid using a low-end red wine as it may give your mulled wine an unpleasant taste.
