Homemade chestnut liqueur
Looking for a liqueur to make yourself at home? Think of the chestnut, it’s the season! Here is the easy-to-make chestnut liqueur recipe.
Ingredients :
- 600g chestnuts
- 800g caster sugar
- 2 L of alcohol at 90°
- 2 vanilla pods

Wash the chestnuts and dry them. Cut them in four with their skin and put them in a large jar. Add the alcohol and powdered sugar. Split the vanilla pods in half and add them to the jar. Let the preparation macerate for 2 months in a place away from heat and humidity. Stir the mixture from time to time.

After these two months, filter the chestnut liqueur thus obtained, then pour it into sterilized bottles. Store these bottles in a temperate place away from heat.
Tips
Serve this liqueur in kir as an aperitif or incorporate it into your pastries.
