Dahl of coral lentils
The coral lentil dahl is a dish from Indian cuisine that is easy and quick to make. It is prepared with coral lentils, coconut milk, tomato, embellished with many spices, which makes it a particularly rich accompaniment in flavors. Served with the traditional Indian bread, called naan, it will be an ideal dish that young and old gourmets will appreciate for sure!
Ingredients :
- 200 g Coral lentils
- 170ml Coconut milk
- 1 Tomato
- 1 onion
- 1 C. tablespoons olive oil
- 3 clove(s) Garlic
- 2 tbsp. coffee curry powder
- 2 pinch(es) Cumin seeds
- 1 C. Ginger powder
- Chopped parsley
- Salt
- Pepper

Pour the red lentils into a large volume of water. Bake them for 10 to 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, peel and finely chop the onion. Heat the olive oil in a pan and brown the chopped onion until translucent.

Clean and cut the tomato into cubes. Peel and chop the garlic. Add the tomato and garlic to the pot. Then add the spices and the cooked and drained coral lentils. Mix everything well and cook for 5 minutes.

Pour in the coconut milk and dilute with a little water. Simmer for 10 minutes over low heat, stirring regularly. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper then sprinkle with chopped parsley. Serve hot.
Tips
Prepare homemade naans to accompany this coral lentil dahl. To make them, mix flour, baking powder, oil and natural yoghurt. Knead the dough and let it rest for ten minutes before shaping the naans. Cook them for a few minutes in the pan. Serve them with the coral lentil dahl.
