Creamy vanilla ice cream without an ice cream maker
Vanilla ice cream is one of the favorite desserts of young and old alike. Whether on its own, with fruit, whipped cream or as an accompaniment to a beautiful cake, it is always acclhoursd. With this very simple sweet recipe, you will no longer need an ice cream maker to learn how to make creamy vanilla ice cream yourself. Go ahead and enjoy this delicious melting and creamy ice cream!
- 500ml milk
- 130g caster sugar
- 6 egg yolks
- 200 ml fresh cream
- 1 vanilla pod
Preparation 20 mins
Prepare the custard. In a saucepan, heat the milk. Slit the vanilla pod lengthwise with a small, sharp knife. Scrape the seeds and add them with the pod to the pan of milk.
In a bowl, beat the egg yolks in an omelette with the powdered sugar. Gradually pour in the hot milk while continuing to beat. Pour the custard back into the saucepan and thicken gently over low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spatula. When the custard begins to coat the spoon, remove it from the heat.
How to make an omelet
Leave to cool and stir in the fresh cream. Pour the sweet cream into an airtight container and place it in the freezer. After 30 minutes, take the ice cream out and scrape it with a fork to prevent crystals from forming. Repeat this operation 3 times to obtain a beautiful creamy vanilla ice cream, without an ice cream maker.
Remember to take your homemade ice cream out of the freezer in advance. Reserve it for about 30 minutes at room temperature before tasting it, so that it is creamy and easier to serve.
