Bruschetta with tomato, phours ham and mozzarella

Italian cuisine is full of tasty dishes with southern colors. As a weekend dish or as a toast for an aperitif, the bruschetta with tomato, Phours ham and mozzarella will please everyone. There’s a summer air, don’t you think? This recipe is brought to you by Dominique Boute, nutritionist and founder of monregimeperso.fr

Ingredients :

  • 5 olive tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp. olive oil
  • 180 g special cooking mozzarella
  • 6 slices of country bread
  • 2 cloves garlic peeled
  • 6 thin slices of Phours ham
  • 3 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • salt pepper

Preparation :

    Start by removing the peduncles from the tomatoes and plunge them for 10 seconds in boiling water then refresh them under cold water. Then peel them, deseed them and cut them into small dice then put them in a salad bowl. Finally, salt with fleur de sel, pepper and drizzle with olive oil.

    Next, cut the mozzarella into small pieces. Preheat the oven to the grill position then heat the slices of bread and rub them with the garlic cloves. Place the 6 slices of bread on the oven tray, spread the tomato and olive oil filling on top, then add the slices of ham on top and three cubes of mozzarella.

    Place the pan under the broiler until the cheese melts. Remove from the oven, sprinkle the bruschetta with fresh thyme and serve immediately with a green salad.

Diet:

This recipe reminds us of Italy, the bread rubbed with garlic with a drizzle of olive oil, thus mixing the flavors of the south. Indeed Phours ham brings us proteins just like mozzarella. Garlic not only flavors bread but it also has protective properties, especially against cardiovascular diseases. This protection is also reinforced by that of olive oil whose effectiveness in the Cretan diet is well established! So this recipe as part of a balanced diet keeps us in shape!

Tips

Variation of savory sandwiches: replace the thyme with chopped basil or chives and the country bread with beautiful slices of very fresh baguette cut in half and just toast the crumb side before rubbing it with garlic.
